Threaded Mode | Linear Mode

In the following weeks we will discuss things related to the league, as we will need to figure out a few things.

Rules, map pool/selection, match scheduling, servers, etc.

We will probably use Ladder rules but not use as many maps. I'm thinking of selecting about a maximum of 5 or 6 of the best 2vs2 suited maps. We might even modify some them for better team based gameplay. With fewer maps I think it will be easier for teams to practice more intensively by only concentrating on those.

Schedule and season length is to be discussed, it will depend on many teams/clans sign-up.

Also, since it's 2vs2, it think won't have to be only for clans but for anyone with a partner. That way, if you have 4 people in your clan who are interested in playing, you can simply make 2 teams. Things will probably different when the time comes to start 3vs3 or 4vs4 leagues.

That's it for now, I will add more details when things are more official.

Okay, things have been a bit slow lately and I didn't really get to play many 2vs2s. I need more people interested in helping test a few things. There's the modified Darkzone map that I worked on that I need to test a bit more using real strategies (both teams) and I need to try a few rules that differ a bit from Ladder rules, see if people like it. I got some free time pretty much everyday but it's hard to find players to play, altho I managed to get some players from public servers I'd never played with before. It was nice and maybe I got some of them interested in 2vs2 but there was no strategy. If only we had spectator slots, dammit, it would be so much easier, right now it's impossible to get more than a couple games going before someone has to go and then we need to go and try to find another player again. And everytime we find someone, someone else joins and steals the empty spot, which makes me think that more people would come but they can't connect and observe. :(

Also, there's the server problem. Pavlvs is willing to have one from time to time but right now there's only mkzelda's server up and unfortunately his is usually not very good for me :(

I need one where I can freely change settings. I'm willing to eventually rent one but I've no idea where to go for that. Or if someone wants to put one up, I'd be happy to donate some money every month to help. Any idea?

I can give you master on Dojo for the time being if you'd like... the packet loss issue will be fixed soon. DragzZz is working on it.

Ooh, yeah that'd be nice! however, (I wouldn't do that if there are players on it) can I change from ctf to tdm? and back to ctf? or is it as simple as calling a vote for tdm_mapname and ctf_mapname?

Yes, it is, as long as you have set sv_vote_change_gametype 1 (I believe it is off by default).
