I'm sorry about the late reply, I didn't want to leave this without a semi-resolution, at minimum.

Isn't a switch to the previous weapon the Laser's "secondary fire"? You should be able to bind the laser to "E" (I recommend "R", however.), and just right-click to return to the previous weapon. That is, unless something has changed since my computer bricked a bit over 2 months ago. |
