Hi there!
I'm Jack, an Admin of the ([b]german[/b]) [url=http://www.unconnected-clan.de][unconnected][/url].
Maybe some of you know uc, but I'm not shure everybody does.

However, we play mostly CTF (usual CTF, no Minsta CTF, although I asked our Members to open such a Server, long before ToTClan did a setup of such)

We don't mind about any Skill of players. We want fair games (sadly some of our Members don't accomplish that all the time, but were not perfect ;) ), comity (99,8% of insults @ our Forum are ironic xD) and FUN!
Of course we have some competition inside our Clan with changing teams, but if you're to bad we will help you.

Want a fight?

Ask for CTF, but we won't decline a 2on2 or 1on1 Match.
We even got our own Ladderserver (of course votable and MINSTA XDD).

Hope to cya @ our Site or our Servers (as above the Ladder or the 2.4.2 with votable game modes ;) )

Lets face it, the Nexuiz Clan scene hasn't been doing so hot recently and for months people have been complaining. I've been telling people not to worry, alpha and I are in the works with the statistics system... but with so many other projects in the air the pace of that one has slowed down and building a custom ladder script that works automatically with the server statistics within a timeframe of say... a month, was just not feasible.

Doku and I have made some attempts in the past by providing [url=http://m.nexuizclans.com]clans[/url] with [url=http://optimalclan.com]awesome[/url] [url=http://ev.nexuizclans.com]websites[/url] (huge thanks to doku for these, it's mostly his work)... but nothing really stuck.

So... I took it upon myself to do a bit of research and I think I've have found the sort of script I was looking for, basically a league management script. This one allows of expansion. It's your basic ladder, where you sign up as a single user, create or join a clan and schedule matches with other clans. Afterwards, you report the matches, upload your screenshot and demo.

This one allows for users to join multiple clans (if I(we) allow it), automagical scheduling of clan matches, multiple tourneys with separate templates (we can host contests for other web communities, much like tourney.cc does, if they so wish), we can create custom awards... and better yet, this has a module system. So we can easily extend this platform.

This is really good because instead of going from the ground up with statistics and then a ladder, we can now meet this application half way and (hopefully) automatically submit demos, screenshots and reports from servers in the future.

[size=medium]So... where do we go from here?[/size]

We need to define match rules, create (a) server config(s), define a map list (remember we can run multiple tourneys, so we don't have to exclude new maps, we can have a custom ladder with a rotating maplist for new maps.

Clan leaders, please sign up and get your members to sign up as well.

Dokujisan and I will run the first set of servers for this community but I hope we can work with some of the EU and AU guys in the future. I expect the first matches to kick off in ~a month, so that should give us time to define all these things out.

i want to introduce the Clan to you, i am part of.

We are an european, pure Minstagib - Clan and enjoy playing Nexuiz everyday.
At Moment we are the biggest Minsta-Clan with 13 active members. Since February we are running 2 own servers, are working on new maps together, doing promo-videos for Nexuiz and the Minsta - gamemode.

We are playing a lot of [b]Deathmatch[/b] (we love the splatter^^), [b]1on1[/b] ( we also took part at the 1on1 Minstagib tourney) and start building a [b]CTF - Team[/b].

The 1st 1on1 Minsta - Tournament was organized through our forum and soon we will run an own Minsta CTF server.

We are not looking for new members at moment(invite only) , but we would be glad if u visit our page and get us to know :)

Clan Activity

Ok guys, we really need more NA clan activity. At the moment, the only matches that ever happen are between either MiT and M, or MiT and V. GT, [o], ReV, and prae havent played any matches for a while and we need to change that. Clan matches used to be a big deal and were always very exciting, but now they barely exist. My suggestions:

[o]: Get united, get active. I always considered you guys to be the best all-around clan.

[GT]: You guys have new members now, but you hardly play matches anymore.

[ReV]: Theres almost always 2 or more of you guys on, but I never see any matches.

[prae]: You guys would be alot of fun to play, and a great challenge, but I've never seen you guys do clan match.

-V-: Generally around for 2v2's but never more

I'm not trying to insult any clans, I just want to see some more matches to liven things up again :D

Making BC30 an official clan server

For those who aren't aware, I run some private servers (called the batcaves) which we use for north american clan activity. One of the servers (which we tend to call BC30) is the one I have setup for clan matches.

I'm considering making this server somewhat "official" in that I would setup a limited RCON account (which is a new feature in 2.4.x) which I will give out to all of the clan leaders. Then I will provide clear instructions on how to setup a match. This will allow clans to setup their own matches without requiring me to setup the server for them. The only thing they will need to do is make sure the server is reserved for them during that time.

There will have to be some rules for this (like not using this server for practice sessions, only clan matches) but I'll cover that when the time comes.

What do you guys think?

([b]Note[/b]: One of the planned projects is to have a match scheduling system that will take care of setting up servers for clan matches, but that project is still in the planning stages. This will be a temporary solution before that project is complete.)

Clan vs The World matches

I thought it would be good to have some smaller goals to getting clan activity underway. I think the "Clan vs The World" pickup games would make a lot of sense. The idea behind this is basically where a server pops up on the public server list that says something like "Clan Match: Militia vs World" or something to that effect. Then Militia fills up the Blue team and waits for people to fill up the red team. Of course, this will have mixed results and I'm certain that there will be some people who drop off from the red team and someone will have to immediately jump in to fill up the spot. That will be expected. Another difficulty will be the pressing of F4 to begin a match. that will be VERY difficult to relay to people who are not familiar with the concept.

Aside from those two issues, I think it could be a good way to get some clan activity going and also allow the general Nexuiz community to be more familiar with the active clans (and see that there is actually clan activity of some kind going on). This would prove a clan's ability to assemble their team for a match, but if the match falls through then [b]nobody gets disappointed.[/b]

Ok, what I'm considering doing is setting up the BC30 as an official clan server where the clan leaders have access to it. I'll post a separate thread on this idea.
