Vortex doesn't consist of 3 members, but thanks for the consideration. Anyway, now that classes are over, I'll have much more time to work on what I really want to work on, none of which include integral calculus, thank Bog.

RE: quitting nexuiz
You could play on my server. It doesn't have asshats. It doesn't have anyone. Has my maps though.

For the last month or two I've had mappers block though, so add me to the bandwagon. Been trying to make my peak monestary map I'm working on work but I guess ... well it takes so much to make a map... and then it gets old fast. Also no one's ever played a huge game with me on opposing castles so I've never gotten to enjoy it the way desert castles sometimes was enjoyed so that was a letdown. Really wanted to have big wars on the new place.

I'll miss you Icarus.

I played with you few times on European servers 1on1s and you had the best Ping which I ever saw for a US player. You have much potential Icarus and don't forget, I will always be there for a 1on1 ;)

I hear from people that I have a damn good ping in US servers.

RE: quitting nexuiz
Aww. Yeah I understand how too much Nexuiz is hard on real life. But I hope you guys won't go completely inactive, or at least that you'll eventually come back.

I'll admit I'm not really playing much anymore except for those couple of days 2 weeks ago, but when I do play, it's a lot of fun and I enjoy it a lot more than when I was playing for 6 hours non-stop on some days. I suppose I won't progress much anymore but at least I'll be having fun. I played a couple games this morning and I had a lot of fun even at galt's. That says a lot. Playing too much gets frustrating for some reason, I think it's because you become so immersed in the gameplay that you can't think much about anything else and every little mistake you make (as well the ones other people make) pisses you off. But it's so hard to stop, so damn addictive. So congrats on making the decision to stop. For me, closing irc for good helped a lot, now I only go when I'm looking for a game or discuss something nexuiz related. From now on I'll probably play only when I really have nothing else to do, so probably once or twice a week for a few hours. I guess it's usually around 5-6am when I can't sleep, but who knows.

So yeah, I don't blame you guys for quitting, but I hope some day we'll get to play again. Good luck in whatever projects you guys have.

RE: quitting nexuiz
We all just needed a break. We were all playing all day every day. It was new and exciting. I've taken almost 2 months off for many reasons: all that play caught up to me and I had to do some work, I had my wedding and honeymoon, and I've had some hardware problems that keeps me from playing as competitively as I'd like. Take a small break, come back. You may find you're better than where you left off, I feel that way in some respects.

As far as it not being fun anymore, that sounds like either burnout or wrong crowd although I admit, since we had all those excellent TDM matches on the batcaves, and every defrag/nexrun/wswrace map I play/see makes it harder to enjoy pubs and such now.
